An ML Engineer’s Guide to AWS Solutions Architect Associate (AWS-SAA)

The day job of an MLOps engineer / ML Engineer pretty much starts with logging into a cloud platform and in my case it is AWS. AWS provides excellent services to build end to end machine learning systems including those to take care of models after deployment. Quite a hastle removed for an ML Engineer , am I right?

I am taking up series of certifications like AWS SAA and AWS ML speciality to make myself more equipped with the knowlede of AWS services to build systems that are scalable, cost effective and serve business needs. In that journey, I have successfully cleared AWS- SAA in my first attempt with 5 months of preparation. During my preparation, I felt the need of having a quick run notes of all services will help me save some time. Hence, creating this quick guide.

Points to be noted about these certifications:

These certifications not only need understanding of services but also being able to use them at right time. Hence, It is advised to take this exam after working in relevant field for about 1.5 -2 years of time. This recommendation is apt as it gives us practical understanding of various services which is thoroughly tested in the exam.

How can this series help you?

But in case, you dont have such experience yet or you want to get certified first before you make career transition to a field that needs AWS understanding, this series is for you. In case you already have experience or in your last leg of preparation for certification, this can act as a revision notes. This series is all you need to know about AWS services that are important for MLOps and also for AWS SAA certification.

Note: This series is still work in progress. Please comment in case you are looking for in depth understanding of any particular service that is missing here which you feel is important.

Thanks again for joining me in this joyful learning ride!
